About The Event
For the first time, Battle Cancer is heading to Scotland! Expect pumping sets from their resident DJ, brand new workouts and insane light shows.
Battle Cancer is a unique experience for people looking to make a difference and kick cancer to the dust, combining playful functional fitness workouts with a teamwork experience like no other.
Everyone can do it. Workouts are designed so that anybody can take part, whether you're a professional athlete, experience gym-goer, first timer or cancer survivor. It's as hard (or as easy!) as you want to make it. There are no heavy weights, barbells or gymnastics, just intuitive movements and simple equipment.
What will I be doing at the event?
You'll do four 9-minute workouts over the course of the day. Workouts are released one by one a few weeks before the event.
Workouts use bodyweight movements and simple equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and sandbags. You'll also use machines such as rowers, runners and ski ergs. Further equipment may be added but will not exceed the weights stated below.
Maximum weights are as follows for men/women:
- Kettlebell 20kg / 12kg
- Dumbbell 20kg / 12.5kg
- Plates 20kg / 10kg
- Sand Bags 30kg
- Wall Balls 9kg / 6kg
You can view examples of the movements you'll be undertaking in this YouTube video.
What are the team divisions?
There are three divisions - Males, Female and Mixed.
Male is teams of 4 men. Female is teams of 4 women.
Mixed teams can be made up of any combination of gender: 2 men / 2 women, 1 man / 3 women, 3 men / 1 woman.
