Multidisciplinary team (MDT) for pancreatic cancer

Your treatment will be planned by a team of specialist doctors and other healthcare professionals, called a multidisciplinary team (MDT).

In most hospitals, a team of specialists called a multidisciplinary team (MDT) will meet to discuss your treatment for pancreatic cancer. After the meeting, your specialist will talk to you about the types of treatment you may be able to have.

The MDT will include:

  • a dietitian
  • a physiotherapist
  • an occupational therapist
  • a palliative care doctor or nurse who specialises in symptom control and supportive care
  • a psychologist or counsellor.
