Travis Perkins and Benchmarx
In 2015 we launched our partnership with Travis Perkins and Benchmarx to build better support for people affected by cancer. Find out more about the partnership.
Our partnership
Since the launch of our partnership in 2015, Travis Perkins and Benchmarx have raised over £3.6 million to support people living with cancer. They have organised fun events in branches and taken on personal challenges like the London Marathon and Mighty Hikes, as well as organising golfing events and taking part in World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Through all of this, employees, customers and suppliers have embraced the partnership, helping us reach this incredible amount.
Right now, Macmillan can only be there for one in four people at diagnosis. We will do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer and that is why the continued support of colleagues and customers at Travis Perkins and Benchmarx is so important. We have extended our partnership until December 2023, with the ambition to raise a further £3 million.
In the UK, around 500 men are diagnosed with cancer every day. However, men often find it difficult to talk about cancer, let alone ask for support. With a high number of male employees, customers and suppliers, Travis Perkins and Benchmarx are uniquely placed to help us reach and encourage men to speak up and seek support when they need it. Our partnership is helping to raise awareness of the support available and encourage men to speak up and ask for help.
The money we raise will help fund our services, including the Macmillan Support Line and Macmillan Grants. This will help us support harder to reach groups, including men. We are working together to do whatever it takes to support everyone living with cancer.
