Meet Rosie and find out about how clinical insight informs her strategy.
Rosie currently leads Macmillan’s Centre of Clinical Expertise (CoCE) and will share this role with our Chief Nursing Officer when appointed. Rosie is committed to ensuring that Macmillan’s strategy is informed by clinical insight and guidance from a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, to support and improve the lives of people with cancer.
Working closely with the team’s clinical, nursing and AHP Advisers, as well as the Clinical Engagement Lead, Rosie’s focus will be to ensure we are able to build credibility with clinical audiences on behalf of Macmillan and that we are seen as a trusted, relevant and up to date, clinically informed organisation.
Rosie brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Macmillan. She trained at Birmingham University, became a GP Principal in Kent in 1989 and worked as Clinical Assistant at the Heart of Kent Hospice for a number of years. She became a Macmillan GP in 2001 and was the Macmillan GP Adviser for London, Anglia and South East Region in 2002 and Lead GP Adviser from 2003-2013.
Alongside Jane Maher, she was appointed Macmillan’s Joint Chief Medical Officer in 2014 and when Jane stepped down from the role in 2018, Rosie became Chief Medical Officer.
The non-work stuff
Mancunian born and raised, Rosie is a lifelong Manchester City fan along with her husband and two sons. She loves reading, keeping fit and walking in the scenic, Kent countryside where she lives and has recently discovered the joys of tennis – watch out Emma Raducanu!
